Mr. LeSage joined Cargill in 1992 as a commodity merchant trainee in the company’s Grain and Oilseeds business. In 1993, Mr. LeSage was appointed Commodity Merchant and based in Gainesville, Georgia. In 1995, he became the Commercial Manager for three oilseeds plants, serving customers in the Southeastern region of the U.S. In 1997, he was appointed North American Proteins Manager, overseeing the merchandising of Cargill’s 15 oilseed plants in North America. After earning his MBA, Mr. LeSage moved to Singapore to start Cargill Risk Management’s (CRM) business in Asia. He worked in Asia for four years, developing customer relationships and building the commercial team to manage commodity derivative sales activity across 13 countries. In 2004, Mr. LeSage returned to Minneapolis to manage CRM’s North and Latin American Feed and Biofuels derivatives sales team. In 2008, he became a Vice President and Global Sales Manager for CRM’s Hedging Products team. In November 2010, Mr. LeSage was appointed Business Unit Leader, Cargill Risk Management.
Mr. LeSage holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Minnesota, Carlson Graduate School of Business Administration in Minneapolis and Bachelor of Arts Major in Political Science from the University of Minnesota (Graduated with Honors, Cum Laude)
Mr. LeSage is currently serving on four non-profit boards.
