Development and Donor Services Specialist
Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, many of Amelia's fondest memories revolve around athletics. From attending Cardinals, Blues and Rams games with her family to meeting legends like Ozzie Smith and Kurt Warner, to playing wiffle ball with her brothers, she always loved anything that involved sports. Although she wanted to be an ice hockey player like her childhood sports hero Brett Hull, her talents were best spent running on the track and as sports editor for the high school paper. Her passion for sports writing resulted in a scholarship from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri, where she majored in Communication.
After college, Amelia held multiple marketing roles at professional service firms, but coaching and volunteering for Girls on the Run International inspired her to pursue the nonprofit industry. Her development career began at The San Francisco Foundation, where she managed the annual fund, fundraising metrics, donor customer service protocols, development communications and stewardship events. Amelia also volunteers her time as a marketing and corporate partnerships chair for Girls on the Run of the Bay Area and serves on Virgin America's employee scholarship selection committee. She loves working in development because of the way it goes beyond the dollar to build a strong, vibrant community and looks forward to helping our donors see the true impact of their generosity.
Amelia lives in San Francisco with her husband, Nick. They love running road races together, playing on their coed softball team and fighting over which baseball games to watch every night (unfortunately they don't cheer for the same team).
