Associate Head Coach, Women's Basketball at Fairleigh Dickinson University
Devin Jefferson is the Associate Head Coach for the women’s basketball program at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, NJ, where she is responsible for the recruiting efforts of each incoming class, while also handling on court coaching responsibilities. During her time at the Division I campus, the program has increased its total number of wins each season and received the highest preseason poll rank in program history. Jefferson has a strong commitment to public service and engages the program in several community service projects throughout the year. From 2010-2013 Jefferson was the Assistant Coach at The University of Vermont, where she helped coach a team that won its first conference playoff game in three seasons. Jefferson is very passionate about coaching, and instilling life lessons to young adults. She is a native of Orange, NJ, and her athletic roots began as a student-athlete at Seton Hall University. She was designated captain her senior year, and helped the Big East Pirates reach a winning season in the 2000-2001 season. She achieved All-Academic Big East Honors for three seasons of her career, and was awarded the Most Improved Player and the Richie Regan Leadership Award in 2001 at Seton Hall University. Following her collegiate career, she played semi-professional basketball for the New York Gazelles. In 2014, she graduated from the NCAA Women's Coaching Academy in Atlanta, GA, a training program affiliated with the Alliance of Women Coaches. She was also accepted in the NCAA Advocates for Athletic Equity, Achieving Coaching Excellence (ACE) Leadership program in Indianapolis. In her spare time, Jefferson has traded her basketball sneakers for running sneakers, she enjoys running marathons, half-marathons and races throughout the NY and NJ areas.
