William Damon

Damon is the author of Greater Expectations and is a professor of education at Stanford University and director of the Stanford Center on Adolescence. His research, teaching and publications focus on moral development and education, and Damon is a key figure in the growth of positive psychology.

Damon is the author of 18 books and the editor-in-chief of New Directions for Child and Adolescent Development and The Handbook of Child Psychology. In collaboration with Howard Gardner and Mihalyi Csikszentmilhayi, Damon helped create the GoodWork Project, which researches and promotes individuals and organizations that demonstrate work that is meaningful, of high quality and socially responsible.
