Scott Chapman is the Founder and CEO of the investment advisory firm Chapman Investment Management, LLC. Previously Scott was a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager with Lateef Investment Management, where he contributed to a ten-fold increase in assets under management to $4.5 billion in ten years, and to its mutual fund performance, which was ranked by Morningstar with its highest ranking of five stars.
Previous positions included Research Director and Portfolio Manager with Founders Asset Management and Director of Large Cap Growth Strategy and Portfolio Manager with HighMark Capital Management. Scott is a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) and a member of the CFA Institute since 1991. Scott taught investment principles on behalf of the CFA Society of San Francisco for seven years to candidates for the CFA exam. He also taught seminars called “Lessons from the Masters,” which profiled the investment practices and case studies of Warren Buffett, Peter Lynch and John Templeton.
He served as Chair of the Alumni Advisory board for Golden Gate University’s graduate school of business for several years and has volunteered as an officer for several non-profit organizations.
Scott has coached youth sports for over 20 seasons including swimming, soccer, baseball and basketball. An avid athlete, Scott competed in swimming at the collegiate level, completed the San Francisco Marathon and enjoys running, swimming and cycling. Scott has been certified as a PCA trainer.
Scott has a B.S. Accounting from Santa Clara University and an MBA Finance from Golden Gate University. Scott and his wife, Celeste, live in Tiburon, California and are the parents of Bobby and Gina. Bobby earned first-team All American in water polo at St. John’s University, and Gina is a double major in music and theatre at University of Redlands.
