Brad Ausmus is the Manager for the Detroit Tigers. Formerly, a special assistant for the San Diego Padres, Ausmus boasts an 18-year career as a catcher in Major League Baseball. Drafted by the New York Yankees in 1987, Ausmus attended Dartmouth College and earned a degree in government while playing in the Yankees’ minor-league system. He led the major leagues in several categories during his career with the Padres, Detroit Tigers, Houston Astros and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Noted for his defensive play and game management, Ausmus was named an All Star in 1999, and was a three-time Gold Glove winner.  In 2004, Ausmus was inducted in to the National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.
